Our Story
Mushroom Hill's Chews was born on a small family farm on the nutrient-rich ridges of Raleigh, North Carolina. For decades our family has tended this living soil — first as growers of premium worm castings (the "black gold" of organic gardening), then as mushroom cultivators, and now as treat-makers for the dogs who roam our land alongside us.
Why we started
Watching our own dogs thrive on the bounty of the farm, we couldn't ignore what was missing from the pet treat aisle: simple, traceable ingredients. We refused to feed our pups anything packed with fillers, artificial preservatives, or mystery meat by-products — so we made our own.
How we make them
Every batch of our signature chews is hand-cut from whole, organic sweet potatoes grown using our own vermicompost. We slow-dehydrate them at low temperatures to lock in fiber, beta-carotene, and the natural sweetness dogs love — no oils, no sugars, no junk. Ever.
What we stand for
- Transparency. One ingredient. That's it.
- Regenerative farming. Healthy soil produces healthy food.
- Family-first values. We feed our own dogs every treat that leaves the farm.
